HII discusses with KU to develop the Ocean Forecast Modeling and Early Warning System for the Gulf of Thailand

On 23 July 2020, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suriyan Tunkijjanukij, Dean of Faculty of Fisheries and researchers from Kasertsart University (KU) met Dr. Sutat Wisakul, Director of Hydro – Informatics Institute (HII) and team to discuss their cooperation and present the Ocean Forecast Modeling and Early Warning System for the Gulf of Thailand Phase 2. The project released the “Krasea Samut 2” buoy at the Map Ta Phut Industrial Port, Rayong Province in order to track the sea current in the eastern sea of Thailand, and improve circulation model in the Gulf of Thailand.
After that, Ku has delivered “Marine Telemetry Monitoring Station (Prototype)” and its signboard which will be installed at the Sriracha Fisheries Research and Development Station, Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University (station code GOT001). This station will record oceanography data and environmental quality data which will be analyzed and utilized by HII and KU to further develop the Ocean Forecast Modeling in the future.
