On May 16, 2024, Dr. Royboon Rassamethes, Director of the Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII), along with officials from the Protected Areas Administration Office 2 (Sriracha), welcomed a delegation from the Royal College of Defence Studies and officials from the British Embassy in Thailand. A total of 23 representatives from 12 countries visited the Khao Ang Rue Nai Wildlife Sanctuary to study the implementation of the Bajrasudha Kajanurak Project, aimed at enhancing understanding of the national institutions’ roles, particularly in addressing wild elephant issues in protected forests and promoting sustainable community development.
The delegation received a briefing on the project’s operations and visited the True Smart Early Warning system in the forest area connecting five eastern provinces (Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Sa Kaeo) at the Khao Ang Rue Nai Wildlife Sanctuary Conservation Operation Center. They also observed water and food source development for wild elephants and wildlife around the Phuthai Reservoir.
