HII Participates in the Exchange of Water Data Science Knowledge in Singapore

From September 2-6, 2024, the Hydroinformatics Institute (HII), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESRI), represented by Dr. Kanoksri Sarinnapakorn, Researcher and Acting Head of Water Data Science, Dr. Kritanai Torsri, Head of Climate and Weather, and the Innovation and Hydroinformatics Division team, attended the ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre (ASMC)-World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Forum: Towards a Weather-Ready and Climate-Resilient ASEAN in Singapore.

Additionally, HII representatives were invited by Prof. Adrian Law, Director of the Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute Singapore (CFI) and Director of Strategy, Collaboration, and Technology Transfer of CFI, former Chair of the ASEAN Hydroinformatics Data Centre (AHC) (2022-2023), to discuss collaborative research on weather forecasting in the ASEAN region. During this visit, HII representatives were also invited to deliver special lectures to NUS staff and students as follows:

  • Dr. Winai Chaowiwat presented on “ASEAN Extreme Climate Projection.”
  • Dr. Kanoksri Sarinnapakorn presented on “HII Data Science.”
  • Dr. Kritanai Torsri presented on “Introduction of Weather Forecast & Climate Prediction System at HII.”
