MHESRI and HII Collaborate with CMU and Lamphun Provincial Water Resource Management Center to Develop Local Water Management Curriculum
20/09/2024
On August 22-23, 2024, the Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII) in collaboration with Chiang Mai University (CMU) and the Lamphun Provincial Water Resource Management Center organized a training program titled “Development of Local Water Management Curriculum through the MHESRI Frontline Mechanism.” The event was inaugurated by Mr. Prakob Yodya, District Chief of Mae Tha, and Major Chanintorn Phutthaseth, Mayor of Mueang Chi Subdistrict Municipality. The primary participants included local agencies, water user organizations, and community networks in the Mae Tha Basin, Lamphun Province, along with other interested parties.
The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESRI) has outlined a development framework that integrates multidisciplinary knowledge with research, technology, and innovation to advance local development. This initiative aims to connect scientific, technological, and innovative knowledge from MHESRI through research and development conducted by highly skilled personnel from its university networks and affiliated agencies. The focus is on building and developing knowledge while integrating the three disciplines—science, social sciences, and humanities—to enhance the capacity of personnel to apply hydroinformatics and strengthen community water management.
HII expresses its gratitude to CMU, the Lamphun Provincial Water Resource Management Center, local agencies, and the community water management network in the Mae Tha Basin for their cooperation in refining and enhancing water mapping data. This effort ensures the accuracy and comprehensiveness of information, leading to more balanced water management and effective development that meets local needs.
