HII Welcomes Pattani Municipality for a Study Visit to the National Hydroinformatics Data Center

On July 8, 2024, Mr. Nianuawa Sulaiman, Mayor of Pattani City, along with his delegation, visited the National Hydroinformatics Data Center at the Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESRI). Dr. Royboon Rassamethes, Director of HII, welcomed the delegation, who explored the exhibition titled “From the Sky, Through the Mountain, To the Great Ocean” and toured the HII’s Automated Telemetry Station and High Performance Computing (HPC) laboratory. They also learned about the use of the ThaiWater application.
The delegation attended a briefing on the water situation and the 2024 rainfall forecast, as well as water management strategies during both normal and crisis conditions, delivered by Mr. Watanasak Supaking, Director of Technology & Hydro-Informatics Promotion Division. Additionally, they learned about disaster preparedness from Mr. Doleloalee Same, Chair of the Friends in Need (of “PA”) Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross, Southern Border Disaster Warning Network.
The insights gained from this visit will be instrumental in preparing for potential flooding in Pattani Province and enhancing collaboration with the community disaster warning network in the region.
