HII Welcomes AIT and Hohai University Delegation to Explore AI Technology Collaboration for Water Forecasting

On July 2, 2024, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESRI), through the Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII), led by Dr. Sorntep Vannarat, Policy and Development Executive and Acting Director of the Hydroinformatics Innovation Division, along with the HII team, welcomed a delegation from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and students from Hohai University, People’s Republic of China (a renowned water research institute).
The delegation visited to gain insights into water management expertise under the “2024 International Leadership Training Program for Lancang-Mekong River Young Professionals in Water Sciences.” During the visit, HII presented on climate change and water management technologies and discussed future collaboration opportunities. Before concluding, the faculty from Hohai University proposed the following:
- Scholarships for Master’s or Doctoral studies.
- Joint initiatives to develop AI technology for water forecasting.
