HII Discusses Water Management Directions and Climate Change Adaptation in Thailand

On July 26, 2024, under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESRI), the Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII), led by Dr. Royboon Rassamethes, Director of HII, delivered a special lecture on “Water Management Directions and Climate Change Adaptation in Thailand” during a seminar hosted by the Water Resource Management Commission. The event took place from July 23-26, 2024, at the Main Hall, B1 Floor, Parliament Building. The session was attended by Ms. Pakarat Danusatianpong, Strategic Policy and Management Executive, Mr. Mongkol Ngmjarearnwong, Director of Community Water Management Division, Ms. Pensiri Saranrat, Director of Policy and Strategy Division, Ms. Jittiporn Chantarojsiri, Director of Special Projects, Collaboration, and Communication Division, along with HII staff and representatives from 74 partner organizations and community water management networks, totaling over 200 participants.
Additionally, HII showcased an exhibition featuring survey and monitoring technologies to support water management in various regions. The exhibits included an autonomous depth survey boat (USV), remote sensing drones, a topographical survey system for creating 3D maps, Patummatra or Small-scale water condition monitoring systems, and a small water body depth survey boat. The exhibition also presented information on the automatic telemetry system for weather and water level monitoring, the Mobile War Room unit for water situation analysis and monitoring, the Thai Water Mobile Application, and community water management using science and technology based on the Royal Initiative. The exhibition garnered significant interest from attendees across various organizations.
