Chadchart Sittipunt visits HII and discusses how to apply technology to solve floods in Bangkok

On August 22, 2022, Dr. Royol Chitradon, Dr. Sutat Weesakul, Director, and Dr. Royboon Rassameethes, Deputy Director of Hydro-Informatics Institute or HII and the executives welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Bangkok Governor and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wisanu Sapsomphon, Deputy Bangkok Governor and delegation to visit the operation of HII and discuss on flooding solutions in Bangkok.

Meanwhile, the delegation visited ” From the sky, through the mountain, to the great ocean” exhibition, an automated telemetry station and High-Performance Computing systems for processing water and climate information and discussed on various topis e.g. Analysis of the past flooding events, 12 Risk Flooding Areas in Bangkok, Urban water Infrastructure Adjustments in Thung Song City, Surat Thani Province, “Hydrogence”; platform for urban flood management, Mobile Mapping System (MMS) and the 3D online mapping system. Moreover, both parties referred the future collaboration and HII engagement on technologies for water management, especially the flooding problem in Bangkok area.
