HII collaborated with Deltares and Kasetsart University organized “Deltares Software Days South-East Asia Bangkok 2019”

On 27–29 November 2019, Deltares from Netherlands, collaborated with Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII), and Kasetsart University organized the “Deltares Software Days South-East Asia Bangkok 2019” at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao, Bangkok.
The seminar was chaired by Mr. Kees Rade, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands of Thailand and 2 keynote representations: Dr. Sutat Weesakul, Director of HII on “Bridging policy gaps through software and modeling”, and Mr. Tjitte Nauta, Director of Asia Deltares Institute on “Introduction to Deltares and Deltares Software.” There were 100 participants from Thailand and overseas participated in this event.
The event provided an opportunity to learn, interact and exchange ideas with experts from Asia and the Netherlands to learn the application of Deltares’ software among other countries. In addition, the event also provided training on 3 topics such as 1) Coastal flood forecasting using Delft-FEWS 2) River basin modeling and 3) The adaptation catalyst tool. Moreover, the event featured poster presentation and board game e.g. Serious gaming and Circle game to analyze the possibility of risk and impacts from future uncertainties.
Deltares Software Days South-East Asia is an activity linked to the Delft Software Days event that is organized in Delft, Netherlands, every year. The regional events were previously organized in Nanking China, Yogyakarta Indonesia, Dhaka Bangladesh, and the latest in Thailand.
