HII Welcomes Students from University of Phayao to Explore Applications of Geoinformatics

On September 20, 2024, 19 graduate and doctoral students from the Applied Geoinformatics program at the School of Information and Communication Technology, University of Phayao, visited the Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII) to explore the applications of geoinformatics. The university recognizes HII’s potential as a valuable learning resource for students, especially regarding modeling systems and decision support systems related to weather conditions.

The Water Information Innovation Division provided an overview of technology supporting water management, presented by Mr. Sathit Chantip, Head of Modeling Section. Dr. Thippawan Thodsan, a modeling developer, delivered a session on “Weather Prediction Systems Using WRF-ROMS Models.” Additionally, Mr. Wasukree Sae-tia, Data Analyst from the Technology & Hydro-Informatics Promotion Division, discussed the National Hydroinformatics Data Center and its usage at all levels.

The faculty and students showed great interest in the presentations, intending to apply the knowledge gained in their academic curriculum and future professional endeavors.
