20/09/2024
On July 9, 2024, Dr. Royboon Rassamethes, Director of the Hydro-Informatics Institute (HII) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESRI), opened the workshop and awarded certificates to participants in the “Basic Community Water Management Information Training” program, held from July 8-10, 2024, at the Hydro-Informatics Institute (Public Organization). The training saw participation from 18 local administrative organizations, 2 provincial administrative organizations, 2 private sector entities, and representatives from civil society, totaling 33 participants from 20 provinces.
The training aimed to help participants understand the principles and concepts of community water management in accordance with the royal initiative. It involved the use of information technology to monitor water situations through the National Hydroinformatics Data Center (Thaiwater.net), enabling participants to create their own water resource databases, water plans, and maps. This will aid in analyzing and devising plans for water resource development and flood and drought mitigation in their own and neighboring areas. Participants also learned from the success of the Royal Initiative Community Water Management Natural Museum in Baan Sala Din, Nakhon Pathom Province, in addressing the four types of water issues: flooding, drought, brackish water, and wastewater.
